Four shortlisted for Norfolk waste PFI

Norfolk County Council councillors have invited a shortlist of four bidders to proceed to the next stage for its waste private finance initiative project, according to MRWs sister publication Infrastructure Journal.

The four recommended bidders are:

  • Cory Environmental Management with Wheelbrator Technologies;
  • AmeyCespa Amey UK with Cespa;
  • MVV Umwelt;
  • Resources from Waste United Utilities, Laing ORourke and John Laing Investments.

The list will be presented to the councils cabinet for approval on 14 September and shortlisted bidders will be invited to submit detailed solutions for the proposed waste treatment facility by January 2010.

Norfolk County Council cabinet member for waste and the environment Ian Monson said: The pre-qualification process generated considerable interest from the global waste management industry and, following a thorough financial, legal and technical evaluation of ten applicants, we have identified a strong shortlist of four high quality organisations all of which have robust financial and waste management credentials.
