Dutch-based refuse collection vehicle body manufacturer Geesinknorba has struck a deal with Volvo trucks dealership Irish Commercials.
Trading under the name Geesinknorba Ireland, the company will offer a full sales and aftermarket service for the whole of Ireland from 1 December.
Geoff Rigg, Geesingknorba’s UK and Ireland business director, said: “We see the Irish market consolidating and the whole customer base is becoming much more professional.
“When we found Irish Commercials it was soon obvious that they were what we were looking for and didn’t take long to appoint them.
“We know how they go about business in terms of a consultative approach, long term decisions, and professional well organised after-sales. We see them as a company that does business in a very similar way to ourselves.”
Volvo Financial Services managing director Barry Horan said: “We market ourselves very strongly as a one-stop shop. This partnership further enhances that for the waste sector.
“Geesinknorba has a massive range of quality products from 7.5 tonnes up to 32 tonnes. As a company they have gone down a similar route as regards a one stop shop in that they can provide the body, the bin-lifts, and more recently they can provide the weighing solution – something which is quite unique.”
