German invite for UK waste management firms

People involved in the waste management are being invited to Germany to see how they do things there.

UK Trade and Investment, Germany is organising a waste management mission to the country that will involve presentations by German waste management experts, a day of visits to reference sites and a partnering event.

Germany is a pioneer in the waste management industry with particular success in separation, composting and the recovery of raw materials, and waste disposal that often go beyond that necessary under European Union regulations.

UK Trade and Investment, Germany investment officer Georg-Hubertus Rehberg said: "German waste management industry associations have shown great interest in this mission and will be helping to recruit the leading technology companies in the sector to meet people at the partnering event."

The mission is taking place between 19-21 September in the industrial area of North Rhine-Westphalia. Accommodation will be in Dusseldorf and participants must pay for this and flights.

Meals and local transportation will be provided by UK Trade and Investment, Germany.

It is open to decision makers from UK waste management authorities, organisations and private enterprises.
