Government must avoid damaging technologies

The Government must avoid technologies that could threaten the recovered paper industry when it reviews it Waste Strategy 2000 this year, according to Aylesford Newsprint commercial manager Chris White.
The strategy is the Government's plan for the sustainable development of England and Wales and is reviewed every five years.
White said: "The Government has consistently got their message right but we don't want them adding any new technologies to their strategy. As far as I'm concerned these technologies are just another word for burning, which we are obviously against as we would lose input into our paper stream."
