Government set to reveal WEEE timetable

The Government is getting ready to publish a timeline on the implementation of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive.

With the deadline for implementation of August 13 this year rapidly approaching, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will reveal how much time the electrical and waste industries will need for meeting the requirements of the directive.

A DTI spokesman said: "We will be publishing a timeline for WEEE within the next week. Ministers are still finalising the details of what will be in this."
