Green Alliance appoints new director

Environmental think tank the Green Alliance has appointed a new director to replace Stephen Hale who has taken up the role of deputy advocacy and campaigns director at Oxfam International.

Matthew Spencer, who will take up the role of director later this month, joins Green Alliance from the Carbon Trust where he was head of government affairs.

Speaking about his new appointment Spencer said: “I am delighted to join Green Alliance at this time of change for British politics. The next few months and years will bring both hope and fear for everyone who cares about our environment.

“At Green Alliance we will use out insights and influence to identify the political solutions needed, and lead coalitions from business, politics and NGOs to create support for implementation.”

The Green Alliance has also made two further new appointments.  Ben Caldecott has been appointed trustee to the board and Amy Pearson has been appointed senior policy adviser.
