Halving Waste to Landfill commitment

A construction company has visibly demonstrated its commitment to reduce the amount of construction waste sent to landfill by displaying the Halving Waste to Landfill Logo on its hoardings.

Leadbitter Group has produced the hoardings, the first of their kind, in association with the Waste & Resources Action Programme and will display them at its Mariners Quay development in Newport, Wales.

Mariners Quay is the largest sustainable new housing development in Wales and significant steps have been taken by Leadbitter to reduce the amount of construction waste generated at the site.

WRAP head of construction Dr Mike Watson said: I am delighted with Leadbitters drive to curtail the amount of construction waste sent to landfill.

It is hoped that other construction companies will now follow suit and also display the Halving Waste to Landfill logo.
