Hard-man Wise tackles recycling

Football has been blighted recently by players involvement in drug crime and sex scandals, so it is pleasing to see a few players setting a more positive example to supporters.

Millwalls hard-man player manager Denis Wise himself no stranger to controversy in the past showed he is a reformed character by joining fellow players in backing the Recycle for London campaign last week. The stars encouraged local people to use Lewisham Councils green box kerbside recycling service.

Mayor of Lewisham Steve Bullock said: This campaign is great timing for us as our kerbside recycling collection scheme has just moved into top gear.

We now recycle cans and bottles in addition to paper and card.
