Home movers to receive guides on sustainable living

Home movers in Warwickshire will be given green packs to encourage them to be more sustainable.

With support and funding from housing developers across the county, Warwickshire County Council has put together a pack containing an array of useful information from recycling through to local bus and cycling routes.

The first packs are due out this week, and include green A to Z guides on topics such as recycling, travel, and power. Also included in the pack will be a Shopper’s Guide to Green Labels, to help shoppers understand environmental labels; a fridge magnet reminder of items that can be recycled; an energy efficient light bulb; and information on how to save money as well as the environment.

Warwickshire councillor Martin Healey said: “This is a great initiative, and a wonderful example of the public and private sector working together.

There is no better time to encourage people to adopt new, more sustainable habits that when moving into a new home, and I’m sure the packs will be a huge success and gratefully received.”
