Recycling company Sita UK has said that a preventative maintenance programme has boosted performance at a road sweepings and gully waste recycling plant.
It signed a deal waste water treatment provider CDEnviro to make regular visits and inspections at its plant at Neatchells Lane, Wolverhampton.
More than 40,000 tonnes of road sweepings a year, which would have previously been landfilled, are recycled at the plant for uses including sand, washed aggregate and compostable material.
CDEnviro engineers provide detailed preventative maintenance inspection reports, which allow Sita to maximise the plant’s working life.
Regular visits also allow engineers to ensure that all time-bound maintenance schedules are followed correctly.
Sita UK senior commercial manager Tim Hughes said: “We were impressed by the performance of the road sweepings and gully waste recycling plant in terms of its capability to process huge volumes.
“The preventative maintenance programme was the next step to make sure we got the most out of the facility.”
