Investigation into Northamptonshire blaze

Fire services have returned to the scene of a blaze at a recycling site in Wollaston to assist an investigation into its cause.

The fire at Think Green Recycling’s Raymond Close depot was brought under control at 5pm on 18 January, four hours after the alarm was raised.

Northampton Fire and Rescue Service said the fire, above, was concentrated in the rear yard and involved approximately 80 tonnes of plastic material.

Sixty fire-fighters were in attendance following a call at 12.40, using ten pumping appliances and other specialist equipment.

Northamptonshire fire and rescue service were assisted by colleagues from Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire and other fire services.

Northamptonshire police are now investigating the incident with the help of Northampton Fire and Rescue Service. An Environment Agency visit to the site after the fire reportedly found no risks or concerns with the running of the site.
