Jump in recycling rate for Merseyside

Merseyside recycling rates are up by nearly 7% on last year.Figures released by the Merseyside Waste Disposal Authority (MWDA) show that rates rose to 29.3% from 22.5% last year. Waste sent to landfill had also been reduced by 11.7% from 600,000 tonnes last year to 530,000 tonnes this year.
