Kier uses recycled paint

Construction firm Kier North Tyneside has teamed up with Tynemouth Decorators to be the first in the UK to use the company’s recycled paint in homes.

Tynemouth Decorator’s own brand label Earth Friendly Paint is manufactured by paint recyclers Newlife Paints, which takes waste paint destined for landfill and reprocesses it to produce fresh recycled paint.

Now, the paint will be used in 21 homes in North Shields, North Tyneside.

Kier North Tyneside operations director John Norton said: “It is fantastic that we have been able to adopt a product which is so beneficial to the environment. The impact of our work on the environment is something we monitor very closely. We always try to look at the bigger picture and adopt, wherever possible, the most environmentally friendly way of working.”
