Kim Wilde backs old tyres in the garden

Singer and garden designer Kim Wilde is backing an innovative recycled tyre product. She has joined with company Dunweedin to promote colourful garden chippings made from 100% recycled rubber tyres.

Kim Wilde said: The UK produces nearly a million used tyres each year. This number of waste tyres is expected to keep increasing. Recycling the tyres will help to reduce the UKs waste tyre mountain.

"The beauty of Dunweedin' is that it takes a waste product and transforms it into something attractive and useful, Wilde added.

The chippings are manufactured at Dunweedins factory in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. The company evolved from large recycling plant, BTR also in Ellesmere Port.
