LARAC Scholarship programme

Now up for grabs are 12 places on the Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee’s (LARAC) 2006 Scholarship programme.

The scheme is open to new recycling officers who have worked in local authority recycling for less than five years, with a place available for each English region, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

On offer is attendance to the annual LARAC conference, accommodation and travel costs, with scholars able to attend the National Recycling Awards and Member’s day free of charge.

LARAC chairman Lee Marshall said: “The additional benefit of the programme is that the conference is accredited by the CIWM and also provides two training days towards Group 2 of the institution’s graduate training programme or 12 hours of continuing professional development.”

Details of the application procedure can be found at The LARAC conference will be held in Bournemouth on November 14-16.
