Powerday is creating a non-executive advisory board, with former Veolia Environmental Services (VES) deputy chief executive Paul Levett to be the first member appointed.
The waste management company hopes the board will help to refine the company and deliver on its ambitious growth strategy.
Powerday chairman Mick Crossan said: “We have ambitious plans to build on the success of our modern, state-of-the-art MRF at Willesden Junction in north-west London, and we have already strengthened our executive management team.
“It’s fantastic that Paul will be joining Powerday. His stature within the industry and with wider stakeholders, along with his wealth of experience, will be a significant asset in the delivery of our growth strategy for the business.”
Since leaving VES in April, Levett has become an advisor for Closed Loop and, separately, has taken up a position as non-executive director at land remediation specialist Frankis Solutions.
On his new role, Levett said: “Powerday is an entrepreneurial company which can move quickly to capitalise on the opportunities to deliver the flexible, efficient and environmentally sound solutions which the market requires. I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with the Powerday team at such an exciting stage of the company’s development.”
