LFCMA director Jenny Francis leaves organisation

Jenny Francis is to leave the Liquid Food Carton Manufacturers Association (LFCMA) following a restructure of the organisation.

From September 7 she will leave her position as director of the LFCMA and the body's office in Teddington will also close.

The recycling activities undertaken on behalf of the carton industry by the LFCMA will be absorbed into the Environment Department of Tetra Pak led by Richard Hands.

Tetra Pak UK will meet all current LFCMA commitments to suppliers of beverage carton waste to the dedicated recycling plant in Scotland.

LFCMA chairman Richard Hands said: "We are sorry to lose the support of Jenny at such an exciting time in the development of carton recycling in the UK, which has been largely due to Jenny's efforts and enthusiasm.

But after careful consideration, the members felt the current structure of the LFCMA was no longer viable and appropriate in today's climate."

Jenny Francis said: "While I am sad to be leaving the organisation at such a crucial time in its development, I am proud to have left my mark on the paper industry in such a positive way."
