London 2012 committee says there are many opportunities for sustainable businesses

Organisers for the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games unveiled their sustainability policy and new initiatives to help businesses gain benefits from the event.

London organising committee chief executive officer Paul Deighton said:
There will be opportunities for many, many companies, either directly or indirectly, to be involved in and benefit from delivering the extensive range of goods, services and resources needed to stage the Games from one person home-based operations to small-to-medium enterprises and big corporations.

He added that a new website feature would be launched early next month allowing businesses to register their interest in new Olympic and Paralympic Games business opportunities. Companies who register will receive automatic updates whenever new tender opportunities are announced, as well as progress updates.
