From autumn of this year and subject to final negotiations on the overall bid being successful, London Remade Solutions will run communication and education campaigns in Southwark as well as providing technical recycling advice to VES. This will be initially for the first five years of the waste management contract.
London Remade Solutions director Dee Moloney said: We will be helping Veolia design new and easy to use recycling services for all properties, particularly flats, in Southwark. Well also help with the communications with Southwark residents, explaining how they can reduce the amount of rubbish they generate and the convenient opportunities to recycle in their borough.
VES UK and Northern Europe chief executive Cyrille du Peloux said: Working in partnership with London Remade Solutions will give us the benefit of its local knowledge and technical expertise to help us assist Southwark in reaching its long-term recycling and composting aim of 50% by 2020/21.
Southwark currently has a recycling and composting target of 20% by 2007/8.
