Loving Valentine's Day cards

Students at Godolphin and Latymer school, Hammersmith, showed their caring side — by making Valentine’s cards out of recycled paper.

Created with love: the recycled paper cards

As part of the school’s ‘Waste Watch Week’, education officers from Recycle Western Riverside helped with the papermaking and reminded staff and students of the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling.

Student Nirja Joshi said: “By making beautiful Valentine’s Day cards out of recycled paper, students can make something unique as well as saving money and paper.”

The students turned old shredded paper into recycled paper, which they then decorated with hearts and glitter for Valentine’s Day.
