LWARB rolls out communication support scheme

The London Waste and Recycling Board (LWARB) has launched a £100,000 scheme to support local authorities’ communication campaigns on waste and recycling.

The Borough Communications Support Programme is carried out in partnership with WRAP.

The funding can be used for projects related to:

  • new services – introducing new or expanding existing services
  • low performing areas – for example, flats, low participation areas, low capture rates
  • contamination
  • reuse

The projects can be delivered between now and January 2015.

Councils have until 30 June to apply and more information can be found here.

London has the lowest recycling rate in the UK, with 34% of household waste recycled last year.
