Male body found at MRF in Crayford

A mans body has been found in a load of commingled recycling materials delivered to Viridors materials recycling facility (MRF) in Crayford, Kent (May 13).

As soon as the body was seen on site, the police were informed and recycling operations stopped. The police are currently carrying out investigations on site and no further information has been released.

Viridor says it is cooperating fully with the investigating authorities. At this stage it is not clear how long the investigation will last and the MRF will be closed until the authorities are ready to release the site.

The waste firm is in the process of informing its customers of the situation and is currently working to provide suitable alternative arrangements so that service delivery continues with minimal disruptions.

Further information about the incident will be released by Viridor when it becomes available.
