Manufacturers to be given recycling help

An event aimed at manufacturers is to encourage the use of recycled materials in their products.

London Remade and Inspired recycling are to hold Using Recycled Materials: Realise the Benefits in the hope of raising awareness, specifically within the capital’s Objective Two area organisations.

They will relay the bottom line and environmental benefits to businesses and assist them in accessing new markets for their products.

London Remade project manager Robin Snook said: “Last year there was a nine-fold increase in purchasing of recycled content products. The public and private sector and the general public are increasing their environmental and ethical purchasing, therefore creating demand for a wider range of recycled products.

“Manufacturing is evolving and the UK industry needs to keep up with developments.”

The event, taking place at the Hackney Empire on Tuesday February 21 will allow manufacturers and designers to hear from experts about how producers are succeeding by incorporating recycled materials and gain advice and support.
