Markets - Weekly Prices Update - 28 Aug 2015

MRW’s regular reporting of movements in the markets for secondary materials

Summary

Plastic PRN prices have increased by £5 per tonne due to reduced trading with China and lower oil prices. Merchants expect less trading during Q3.

Premium copper is down about £400 per tonne and all copper secondary grades continue to decline, most notably dry bright wire which is down about £370 per tonne.

Nickel and alloys have also been impacted by the falling copper prices. But nickel, which has been declining for longer - since June - is down relatively less sharply by £20 per tonne.

High value metals platinum, palladium and gold grades have all rebounded while silver remains stable.
