Markets - Weekly Prices Update 31 October 2014

MRW’s regular reporting of movements in the markets for secondary materials

Summary

Merchants quote stable PRN prices this week.

Precious metal prices are down with the exception of palladium.

Copper prices follow the downwards trend of the metal in the LME. However, they are expected to rise soon as miners of Indonesian mine Freeport-MacMoran announced a month of strike. The strike aims to stop production at one of the biggest copper mines in the world.

Nickel and alloy prices continue their downwards trend due to very weak demand. Aluminium and all other non-ferrous metal prices are stable.

Ferrous metal prices, aluminium ingots and white metal prices are unchanged.
