It received the award in recognition of its consistent growth in exports between 2000 and 2002, in which its export business increased by £23 million an improvement of more than 50%.
During the same period, the company expanded its UK operations with a £20m investment in new facilities, and a 43% increase in the workforce in Liverpool and Manchester.
Managing director John Norton said: I am delighted to receive this award. We have also made a significant investment in our facilities, which enables us to provide high-quality products at internationally competitive prices.
Norton processes and ships more than 1m tonnes of recycled scrap ferrous and non-ferrous metal annually.
