Mitie, the facilities management company, has reported revenues up 4.8% to £1.095bn and an operating profit up 3% to £64.2m in its results for the six months to the end of September.
Chief executive Ruby McGregor-Smith said: “We have delivered a strong performance in our core facilities management (FM) business during the first half of the year, and we expect to gain further positive momentum through the rest of the year.
“Our order book is substantial, our pipeline strong. We are in a good position and look ahead with confidence.”
The FTSE 250 company employs more than 70,000 people across the UK and the rest of Europe.
New contracts during the past six months include a seven-year £90m deal with Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust to deliver ‘soft’ FM services, and retention of an integrated FM contract with Vodafone for a further five years, valued at £250m.
