There are also two new additions to the company board: Bill Reeves becomes chairman and Darren Marr is chief financial officer.

Short will refocus his attention on innovation and medium-to long-term business stategy, with the aid of Reeves.

He said: “We are delighted to name Chris as our new CEO. He has a wealth of experience, is well respected throughout the FMCG industry and will slot straight in.”

The new staff are said to be a demonstration of company progress since its launch in 2010.
