M&S launches hanger recycling service for UNICEF

Marks & Spencer (M&S) has announced a hanger recycling service in order to raise money for UNICEF.

The company will encourage customers not to take their hangers home, and will donate 50p for every £1 saved by hanger recycling to UNICEF, with an aim to raise over £1.9m over the coming three years for two projects in Bangladesh.

M&S chief executive Marc Bolland said:  “Just one box of hangers can provide a child with clean water for a fortnight. We are very proud of our UNICEF partnership and believe it can make a big difference to families and communities in Bangladesh, a country we have a large presence in with a regional office and 38 supplier factories.”
