New chair of London Waste and Recycling Board confirmed

James Cleverly has been confirmed as the new chair of the London Waste and Recycling Board.

This follows a recommendation by the London Assembly on February 16 that the Mayor should proceed with his appointment of Cleverly to the post.

Cleverly takes over as chair of LWaRB from Boris Johnson who steps down as part of a plan to refocus his team.

Johnson said: I am thrilled that James can now get stuck into this important role.

Cleverly said: I cannot wait to get cracking and help to improve Londons recycling levels and its approach to waste management.
