New Earth set for expansion

New Earth Solutions is finalising negotiations for a £25 million financing package from German bank NORD/LB.

It plans to use the funds to build 10 new 50,000 tonne plants over the next five years. It currently has a 50,000 tonne facility in Dorset that is equipped to receive, treat and recover value from both source segregated and black bag waste through the use of natural biological treatment, screening and magnetic separation processes.

New Earth managing director Bill Riddle said: This new partnership with a European bank means that we are now well on our way to building up a network of New Earth facilities, and within very real reach of our goal to recycle up to 2,500,000 tonnes of municipal waste per annum by 2013.

The company, which uses fully enclosed facilities, was recently awarded a contract by Kent County Council.
