The Recycling Association has elected Adrian Jackson - managing director at Prismm which owns compliance schemes Complypak and WEEEComply - as its new president.
He will take on the role from Simon Marsden who has come to the end of his two-year term of office. Jackson’s appointment follows that of Peter Seggie as the new general secretary and Simon Ellin as the chief executive, after David Symmers stepped down as chief executive in 2010.
Jackson has considerable industry experience, including recyclate management and trading, producer responsibility compliance and facilities management. Speaking about his new position, he said: “I take on the Presidential responsibility of the Recycling Association at a really important time as we shape the future of the organisation to truly reflect Member needs.
“I look forward to leading a dedicated Member Council to move the Association on to new ground including ’end of waste’ Regulations that may fundamentally change the way we operate in future.”
Marsden oversaw the significant shift of the Independent Waste Paper Processors Association to becoming the Recycling Association to better reflect the more diverse nature of the organisation.
