New service launched for construction industry

North Yorkshire-based waste management firm Yorwaste has launched YorSkip, a recycling service for the construction industry.

YorSkip will cover the whole waste management process from collection to disposal and help manage waste from construction companies. This will include providing recycling statements and a fully-audited trail of the material collected.

Yorwaste sales and marketing manager Ken Davidson said that the new service complemented the environmental performance indicators and site waste management plans that construction companies are now introducing. Construction companies that are working on projects worth more than £300,000 are required by law to have a site waste management plan. This is a document that companies have to regularly update to show how they intend to reuse, recycle and lawfully dispose of waste.

Davidson said: Customers green policies are usually focused on the design of a project and on the materials involved.

We aim to provide a complementary back-end service, which ensures that the waste generated by a project is reused or recycled, where possible. If it cant be recovered, then we dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way.
