Fire at Sita UK Dorset MRF

Last week a fire broke out at SITA UK’s Wareham Eco Park, a materials recycling facility (MRF). Nobody was hurt, but around 10 tonnes of paper and cans were lost in the fire, according to Sita UK. An investigation as to the precise cause of the fire is underway.

Veolia awarded £137m Telford & Wrekin contract

Telford & Wrekin Council has awarded its £137 24-year waste management services contract to Veolia Environmental Services. This will include a kerbside recycling service and treatment, disposal of waste as well as green and grey bin collections.
