PlasticsEurope appoints director

PlasticsEurope, which represents European plastic manufacturers, has announced a new director of public affairs. 

The role will be taken by Leonor Garcia, currently a corporate director at Coca-Cola, on 1 September.

PlasticsEurope executive director Karl-H. Foerster said: “Her experience in senior positions across different markets of industry will be an invaluable asset to PlasticsEurope, our members and external partners”.

New sales manager for MachTech

Industrial shredding supplier MachTech Services have employed Colin Irons (pictured) as the new southern area sales manager, which covers the area south of Stoke on Trent.

Managing director Joe Hoyle said: “We are all excited by what he brings to our long serving team, as we continue to expand on our position of the most innovative and honest supplier of waste shredders throughout the UK and Ireland.”

Smart Solutions launches resource tool

Smart Solutions is to showcase its resource management IT system, Worksite, at the 2015 Recycling Waste Management Show.

The system, which invested £350,000 and spent three years in development, oversees the management of labour to Smart’s clients in the waste and recycling sector.

Manufacturers’ organisation EEF has appointed James Wyse as its national sustainability lead.

The new role will be responsible for helping to identify and reduce firms’ future environmental business risks to help ensure sustainable growth.

Plastics firm makes investment

OnePlastics Group has invested in two moulding machines for its subsidiary Straight, a wheeled bin and recycling container manufacturers.

The new machines, located at Straight’s Hull factory, will allow the company to increase production by developing new recycling products.
