Recycle the carton game

To coincide with the official opening of the UK’s first carton recycling facility in Halifax, one of The Alliance for Beverage Cartons and The Environment UK’s founding partners, SIG Combibloc, is launching a carton recycling game to engage children about carton recycling. 

Firm appointed by Shanks to export RDF

Norbert Dentressangle has been appointed by Shanks Waste Management to manage the European export of refuse derived fuel (RDF) from its Kettering and Glasgow materials recycling facilities. The RDF will be transported to energy from waste facilities in Holland and Germany.

LME announces change at the top

The London Metal Exchange (LME), part of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) Group, has announced Garry Jones will be the new chief executive of the LME from 30 September. Jones will succeed Martin Abbott, whose resignation was announced in June. Jones will also become HKEx’s co-head of Global Markets and a member of HKEx’s management committee.
