Northern Ireland firm first to be approved as WEEE AATF

Northern Ireland IT disposal company AMI says it is the first recycling business in the UK to be granted approval to operate as an Approved Authorised Treatment Facility (AATF) under the new WEEE regulations.

Based at Mallusk near Belfast, the firm has received approval from the Northern Ireland Environment and Heritage Service to operate an AATF as well as be an approved exporter of WEEE.

The company currently has a close partnership with TechRec in Ireland.
