Olympic litter effort for 2012 bid

Ken Livingstone has unveiled his latest weapon in the fight for the 2012 Olympic Games child litter detectives.

Londons mayor was joined by partners including rower Alison Mowbray and waste-management firm Cleanaway to launch a waste book for schools.

Only Losers Litter teaches youngsters about waste and recycling and encourages them to keep the capital clean as it tries to impress the Olympic judges.

Livingstone said: I want to see children becoming litter detectives and telling their friends and family not to drop rubbish.

The coming year is a very important time for London as we bid to bring the Olympic and Paralympic Games to London in 2012.

We want to encourage London schools to learn about the environment and show London is a clean and pleasant city to visit and live in.
