Onyx Environmental Group has purchased Shanks Yorkshire-based dry waste collection business.
The acquisition includes £2.8 million worth of business from 800 customers, a waste transfer station, 19 employees and nine collection vehicles.
Onyx chief executive Cyrille du Peloux said the acquisition would play a key role in growing the companys business and provide the correct infrastructure and critical mass to meet future challenges in both the public and private sectors.
Onyx provides commercial waste management services in Yorkshire and operates a 30-year contract for Sheffield City Council.
Shanks decision follows the recent sale of its UK landfill sites, which was just agreed at an extraordinary general meeting.
