Powerday retains recycling and waste management contract at Heathrow Airport

Powerday has renewed its £2m contract for recycling and waste management at Heathrow Airport.

The contract, awarded by Wilson James which provides logistics services on the airport, covers all construction waste arising at Heathrow Airport as well as COSHH waste and waste from welfare facilities including food.

Current projects on the airport include work on the new Terminal 2 and baggage handling facilities.

Powerday has been working with Wilson James at Heathrow since 2010.

Andy Rhodes, head of logistics, Wilson James, said: “[Powerday] has continually delivered against Heathrow’s high service standards and recycling performance targets, supporting Wilson James’ principle of delivering the highest level of service at the airport.”

Powerday’s sales and marketing director Simon Little said: “We pride ourselves on the level of service delivered across all aspects of this contract, particularly given the challenging circumstances of working in a secure and operationally restricted area of Europe’s busiest airport”.
