Prime Minister congratulates British Plastic Federation

The Prime Minister has praised the contribution of the British Plastic Federation (BPF) to the transition to a green economy in a letter congratulating the trade body on its 80th anniversary.

David Cameron (pictured above) noted the “the vital role” of plastics in day-to-day life and wrote that the plastics sector is helping the growth of a green economy by developing and supplying low carbon products and solutions to other industries.

He also mentioned the positive outcome of a BPF business survey in June, which indicated rising optimism on the UK economic outlook.

Peter Davis, BPF’s director general, said: “This letter is a top-level endorsement of the strategic importance of the UK plastics industry to the national economy and society and is a marker of the high profile the BPF has secured in Westminster.”
