Progress on reducing litter, but more work needed, finds survey

Slight progress in UK litter reduction has been made but there is plenty of room for improvement, according to a 2006/07 survey from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). The Local Environment Quality Survey of England, conducted annually for Defra by ENCAMS, found progress had been made with fast food litter, which stayed the same, rather than continuing to increase as it had in previous years.
