Recoup optimistic as membership expands

Plastics recycling association Recoup welcomed 12 new members in 2013, including waste industry heavy-weights, local authorities and circular economy experts.

Sita UK, RPC Group, Viridor, Machinex, Milton Keynes Council, Kent Resource Partnership, Centriforce Products, PlasRecycle, Ellen MacArthur Foundation, Brunel University London, Campden BRI and Ashortwalk joined the organisation last year.

Recoup said the membership growth demonstrated the importance partnership working and motivating the supply chain to meet the challenges and targets that the industry faces.

Recoup members represent all sectors in the plastic supply and recycling chain, the organisation pointed out.

Chief executive Stuart Foster (left) said: “In 2014, Recoup will continue to deliver a range of strategic, research and practical activities and projects across the plastics supply and recycling chain in partnership with its members and other stakeholders to improve the plastic recycling opportunity.”
