Recovered paper standard "a must read" says LARAC

A new recovered paper quality standard has been described as a must read and has been welcomed by the Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee (LARAC). PAS105 outlines what is required for the quality of recovered paper destined for UK end markets. LARAC representative on the working group Ian Mackenzie said: The introduction of PAS105 is a common sense approach to ensuring that secondary paper for recycling is fit for purpose. By following the guidance, local authorities and their partners will be able to ensure that paper for recycling achieves the quality required for reprocessing. As more paper gets collected for recycling and additional markets are required, quality of product will play an important part in determining paper prices. This guidance is a must read for all local authorities and all those companies sourcing paper for recycling."
