A bigger and better Recycle Week 2008 is predicted by organisers as they announced the dates for next years event. Organisers of the week, Recycle Now and the Waste & Resources Action Programme said that from June 2 2008 a range of national and regional events will be take place. They also expect the next event to build on last year, which included recycling exhibitions, environmental magicians, composting displays and eco-fashion shows, with more events and organisations joining in. Head of Recycle Now Fridey Cordingley said: The Week is increasingly being used as an effective platform to communicate positive messages about recycling and showcase real achievements, as well as to inspire the public to recycle even more. Last year, there were 168 local events during the Week and the continued, enthusiastic support from local authorities is a major key to its success. We are looking forward to building on previous years to make 2008 the best one yet. Partners helping to organise the week include British Glass, Corus, Novelis, PaperChain and Recoup. It is also supported by the national recycling campaigns in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, together with a growing number of local authorities.
