Recycler doubles capacity with £4m investment

Widnes-based WSR Recycling has made a £4m investment which will double processing capacity within the next nine months and create more than 40 jobs.

The company, which provides a recycling service for Halton Borough Council, currently processes around 112,000 tonnes of waste a year.

The new facility will create a range of jobs, including engineering, operations and logistics. The company says recruitment for these positions will begin towards the end of the year.

Managing director Mark Trousdale said: “Having seen an increase in demand for specialist and sophisticated waste processing operations, we have committed to investment in this area and will continue to develop these services in line with customer needs.”

“We have included a dedicated viewing area and a classroom in the new facility so that we can introduce a more regular programme of activities with schools in the Widnes and surrounding areas.”
