Diageo Supply has formed a working party with members of Berryman and the firm it supplies Rockware Glass to maximise the efficiency of the recycling process.
Berryman and Rockware formed a similar partnership with Lambrini filler Halewood International last year and improved safety and profitability at the plant.
So now Diageo components manager Tracey Edwards is hoping to reap the benefits for the firms Runcorn Packaging Unit.
She said: All the waste containers on the filling lines are placed immediately into wheel-mounted bins, and moved by forklift trucks to the Berryman skip outside in readiness for a timely collection.
Rockware customer services executive Steve Spencer added: This arrangement shows how both companies are successfully using a partnership approach to meet packaging waste regulations within the brewing and glass-manufacturing industries.
