Eco Plastics founder Jonathan Short has been elected chairman of the Resource Association (RA).
Short will take over from Andy Doran of Novelis Europe who has stepped down after three years in the role, but has remained a member of the board.
Short is founder and deputy chairman of plasitc bottle recycler Eco Plastics.
He said: “Having been involved as one of the early members three years ago and seeing the organisation flourish under Andy Doran’s leadership, I look forward to carrying on his good work and supporting Ray Georgeson and the team in continuing to offer leadership for the reprocessing and recycling sectors and the wide supply chain interests that support our mission.”
The RA has also appointed Closed Loop Recycling managing director Chris Dow, and DS Smith business development manager Peter Clayson, to the board.
Simon Weston, managing director of Smurfit Kappa Recycling, and Simon Walker, head of RCP Sales at UPM Shotton, have retired from the board.
