Respected Verdant manager dies

Highly respected Verdant business manager Ian Reck has died.

The 46-year-old managed Verdant’s recycling and refuse contract with Gosport Borough Council. Mr Reck had worked at the local council and went on to become manager of municipal waste firm Ecovert, which was later bought and rebranded as Verdant.

At his time at Verdant, Ian was a key figure in rolling out and mobilising Verdant contracts. ↔

Verdant managing director Roger Edwards said: “Ian’s death was a shock to all who knew him and respected the professional values he brought to the job. All Verdant staff, and especially those at Gosport, extend their heartfelt sympathies to Ian’s family and friends.”
