The programme will follow councils and residents on both sides of the battle. It will meet the Hampshire resident determined to stop his local council introducing smaller bins, as he encourages his fellow residents to support his struggle. It will also feature Peterborough Council recycling officer Emma Blakely, employed by the council to teach people how to use their bins correctly. She said: The bins are my baby. I think a lot of people do see us as the bin police, but were just helping.
The programme will also feature a West Yorkshire resident who ended up in court when he was caught on CCTV emptying his wheelie bin in the lobby of the town hall in protest at the bin men refusing to take his rubbish away.
